A Studio project during my time in University that allows me to design a space for a Gin Distiller. And then communicate my ideas with manual presentation drawings and a model.
The overall design was inspired by the thorough process of gin distillation. Using a whimsical approach inspired by the common shape and height of gin distillation machines.
Starting from the curvy timber interiors of the studio, it moves into a rugged concrete workshop, through a staircase in a tube-like form. Just like when gin passes through the distillation tube.
The change in atmosphere reflects from the premature stages of the juniper berries (main ingredient of Gin), through a process of concoction mixing to create dry gin.
A tectonic of repeating and scaling reflects the repeating movement through gin distillation.
